HEHD 8000 Foundations in Youth Development

The collaborative artifact that I chose is a group project titled Community Development Plan. For this assignment our group had to develop a comprehensive youth development program for a fictional community called Granite Station. This was a very meaningful assignment because it challenged us to consider the essential elements of planning a meaningful, long-lasting program for youth and families, including vision statement, SWOT analysis, key assets and deficits and community assessment.

I believe this experience will be beneficial to me in the future, because while much of this process was familiar to me, this was the first in depth SWOT analysis I have participated in. Now that I know how to conduct a SWOT analysis, I can more compeletly help communities to appropriately prepare services for youth.
