HEHD 8880 - Special topics: Youth and Nature

I have chosen a paper titled Supporting a Nature Program for Youth as an artifact for Special Topics: Youth and Nature.  The purpose of this paper was to take a position, "for" or "against" a community supported nature program for youth. I chose to be "for" a nature-based program because of the many physical, social and emotional benefits.

This project will help me in the future because opportunities that require public support often have opposition, as they require funding that may be used for other projects.  In preparing this paper, I had to not only conduct research, but also form persuasive arguments for my position.  As a youth development leader, I will need to be able to persuade members of the community that our programs are worth the investment.
