HEHD 8010 Child/Adolescent Development

The secondary artifact that I chose for Child & Adolescent Development was a project that required students to design a program for youth through a research based program development tool called “E-QYP”.  E-QYP helps youth development professionals design programs that emphasize age appropriate activities to build assets that teens possess.

I chose to design a public speaking project for teens titled “Facilitator for the Day”, which was based on the notion that “Older teens enjoy demonstrating the knowledge they have acquired. Personal motivation overcomes limitations in vocabulary and experience as they seek to express themselves” (Kearney, 2014, p.128). I really enjoyed using E-QYP in this course and will continue to use it to develop programs in the future.
