HEHD 8050 Youth Development in the Context of the Family

I have chosen Group 1 Video and Presentation as a collaborative artifact for HEHD 8050 Youth Development in the Context of the Family.  I was very fortunate to work with Toby Kirkland and Stephen Lance on this project as they are both experienced youth development leaders who I respect greatly.

This artifact has two distinct sections. The first section displays positive and negative interactions between parents and coaches and models the opportunity that exists for youth development leaders to embrace modeling parent interaction.  Going forward this section will help to remind me that I must strive to have productive relationships with all parents, and not just the ones who are polite and appreciative.

The second section discussed the impact that divorce can have on youth. This information to be helpful to me in the future as I work with many youth who live in single parent homes. Particularly, the research on the impact of social parents in the home provides insight relevant to many of the youth I work with.
