HEHD 8060 Youth Development in the Context of a Global and Diverse Society

The artifact that I have selected for Youth Development in the Context of a Global and Diverse Society is the final paper that I submitted for the course. For this paper I analyzed the fiscal sponsor of the organization where I am currently employed (Third Sector New England) with regard to it’s diversity/cultural competency practices.  This project was eye opening for me because I had not considered the organization's areas of weakness.

While Third Sector New England has a variety of valueable diversity resources when employees are first hired, there is no ongoing training or support.  Completing this project has helped me to see that it is important to institute on-going diversity and cultural competency training. This will support my work greatly in the future as I work in environments represented by many different cultures, ethnicities, etc.
